John Cleave, a loving husband, father, grandfather, and dedicated firefighter, passed away on February 20, 2025, surrounded by his family. He was the beloved husband of 54 years to Carole Cleave (nee Walker) and a devoted father to Carolynn Milillo (the late Daniel), Colleen Hoffman (Robert), and the late John Michael. John was also a cherished and devoted Pop Pop to his four grandchildren: Kayla, Shawna, Nicholas, and Noelle. John was predeceased by his brother, Rodney Cleave.

John was a proud member of the Philadelphia Fire Department, serving with dedication for 40 years. Outside of his career, John was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He especially cherished the moments spent with his family, often hosting barbecues in his backyard where laughter and love were always abundant.

Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Tuesday evening, February 25, 2025, from 6:00–8:00 PM at Burns Funeral Home, 9708 Frankford Ave., Philadelphia, PA 19114. A second viewing will be held Wednesday morning, February 26, 2025, from 9:00–10:00 AM, followed by his Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM at Our Lady of Calvary Church. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Grace Cemetery.
