John Joseph Doughty, 74, of Philadelphia died August 14, 2017 at Einstein Elkins Park Hospital. John was born December 29, 1942. Preceded in death by his parents John and Eleanor Doughty, and step-mother Rose. John is survived by his sisters Eleanor Moore (the late Daniel), and Rosemary Bravo (Carlos) both of Louisiana, Missouri; brothers Tim Doughty (Terri) of Newark, Delaware, Michael Doughty of Bowling Green, Missouri, and Walter Doughty (Cara) of Cherry Hill, NJ. He is also survived by his close friend Claire Nash, of Philadelphia, and many nephews, nieces, and cousins too numerous to mention.
John served four years in the United States Marine Corps. He lived in Pennypack Woods Home Ownership Assoc. and was a very active member. He was a longtime member of Steamfitters Local Union #420, where he specialized in HVAC. John was a member of the American Legion Post 0021. He was involved in several Senior Citizens groups and he loved to travel.
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Thursday 8:30 AM at BURNS FUNERAL HOME, 9708 Frankford Ave. Phila., PA followed by his Funeral Mass 10 AM at St. Dominic Church. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery.
