John Joseph Evans, of Philadelphia, PA, passed away at the age of 90 on January 15, 2023. Beloved husband to the late Elizabeth (nee Giordano). Loving father to John J. Jr. (Karen), Chris, and Colleen Hoffman (Kenneth). Devoted Grandfather to Ross, Ryan, Ken, Christopher and great-grandfather to Austin.

John was a 4-year Veteran of the U.S Navy, proudly serving in the Korean War as a member of the USS Fiske 842, during which he met the love of his life, Betty, and soon after entered a devoted marriage of 52 years. He retired after three decades from SKF USA.

John was renowned for his generosity, organizing Christmas parties for the children at St. Vincent's Orphanage in Philadelphia for many years, as his mother was an orphan herself at St. Vincent's.

In his younger years as a magician, as a member of the International Brotherhood of Magicians, Ring 6 Chapter, for 25 years, often performing for the children and adults alike. He performed for the orphanage and children with MS.

Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing Monday, January 23, 2023, at St. Katherine of Seina Church (9700 Frankford., Ave Philadelphia PA 19114) from 9:00AM-10:00AM followed by his funeral mass. Interment Resurrection Cemetery.
