Philadelphia Fire Department Batallion Chief John F. Garrow passed suddenly at the age of 60 on February 19, 2024.  He was beginning his shift with PFD Batallion 8 on the C Platoon when he fell ill.  Chief Garrow also served as a Combat Engineer with the U.S. Army, prior to joining the Philadelphia Fire Department.
Chief Garrow is survived by his loving wife Shanon.  Beloved father of Becky Garrow (Mike), Brandon Weyer (Kate), and Mycol Dennis.  Adored Pop-Pop of Henry, Maeve, and Mycol, Jr.  He is brother to Gerry Bonner (Jim), Donna Brown (Jeff), Kevin Garrow (Diane), Ali Garrow (Jon), and the late Eileen Garrow, Michael Garrow, Maureen Garrow, and Timothy Garrow.  Chief Garrow is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Viewing on Tuesday, March 12, 2024, from 4-8 P.M. and Wednesday morning, March 13, 2024, from 9-11 A.M. at St. Cecilia's Catholic Church, 535 Rhawn Street, Philadelphia, PA 19111.  Funeral Mass to follow at 11:30 A.M.  Interment will be 2 P.M. at Washington Crossing National Cemetery.
