Born in the village of Porac in what is presently Slovakia, John came to America in May 1937. Beloved husband of 55 years to Evelyn "Debby" (nee Potocki), he is the devoted father of John M. (Kathy), Joseph (Anne), James (Gwen), Jeffrey, Jeremy (Barbara), and Jerome; also survived by 6 grandchildren Michael, Hayley, Sarah, Nicholas, Colin, Kevin, and one great granddaughter Claire, brother of the late Dr. Joseph P. Hanuscin. John's greatest passion was his family, love of golf, and his beloved Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates. Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing Sunday Evening 6 to 9 PM, Burns Funeral Home, 9708 Frankford Ave., Phila., and his Funeral Mass Monday 9:15 AM, St. Anselm Church, 12670 Dunks Ferry Rd., Phila. Interment is Washington Crossing Natl. Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions to Holy Trinity Byzantine Catholic Church, 6801 N. 10th St., Phila, PA 19126 in his memory would be appreciated.
