John A. "Jack" Forbes, a longtime resident of Warrington and Doylestown, PA passed away peacefully on Friday, August 22, 2025 at the age of 95.  He was born and raised in Germantown to Mary (née McMonagle) and Arthur Forbes.  He attended Immaculate Conception School ('35-'43).  He was a Boy Scout and a member of 2 marching bands.  He married Josephine Iannuzzi in 1950 at the age of 20.  Jack started work at the Frankford Arsenal in 1951.  He was drafted by the U.S. Army in 1952.  Returning from the Army, he moved to West Oak Lane and had two children: John "Jack", born in 1954 and Diane, born in 1957.  The family relocated to Warrington (Palomino Farms) in 1969.  Jack was very active in community affairs, local government, and St. Robert Bellarmine Church.  While in Warrington, he was an original member and officer in the Palomino Farms Civic Assoc., President of the Warrington Lions Club, and served 10 years as Raffle Chairman for the Horse Show, as well as editor of the Lion News.

The Arsenal closed in 1977, and Jack became a Priority Placement Officer assisting employees to gain employment.  Approximately 87% of employees were placed throughout the government and private industry.  He transferred to the Navy Aviation Supply Office in 1977 and was named Safety Director for the entire installation.  He was promoted in 1979 to Management Analyst, where he worked with the government accounting office (GAO) and the Defense Audit Service (DAS).  He received commendations from the commanding officer, US Congressman Peter Kostmeyer and both GAO and DAS. He retired in January in 1985 with 34 years, 9 months of service.

Jack's hobbies were hunting and fishing.  He successfully hunted in PA, NY, ME, and SC.  He loved to trout fish in Pine Creek, Lycoming County. He participated in school football and local teams.  He was an avid fan of the Boston Celtics, Dallas Cowboys, and the Boston Red Sox.
