John F. Mauro passed away peacefully on August 6, 2026.

Beloved husband of Margaret (née Hughes) and the late Elizabeth (née Siegel). Loving father of the late Jerry Mauro (Annette) and Donna Mullin (Tom). Cherished Poppy of Lisa Carr, Lori Trautz (Steven), John Mauro (Lacey), Jerry Mauro, Sean Mullin, Annelizabeth Mullin, many great grandchildren. Dear brother of George Mauro and Ben Mauro (Karen). He is also survived by his beloved nieces, Suzanne Mahoney and Danielle Siegel, along with many loving extended family members and friends.

A lifelong Philadelphia resident, John proudly served his country in the United States Navy before beginning a long and dedicated career with Local 107. He worked for Roadway Express for more than 30 years before retiring, earning the respect and friendship of countless coworkers throughout the years. John enjoyed the simple pleasures in life and could often be found bowling, playing darts, golfing, or enjoying a game of shuffleboard. He treasured the friendships he made through these hobbies and always appreciated the time spent with those closest to him. Above all else, John was a devoted family man. Nothing brought him greater happiness than being surrounded by his loved ones, creating memories, sharing stories, and enjoying life's special moments together. His kindness, loyalty, and unwavering love for his family will be remembered always.

 Relatives and friends are invited to gather on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, at Holy Innocents Catholic Church (1337 E. Hunting Park Ave., Philadelphia, PA 19124) from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., followed by his Funeral Mass. Interment will follow at Greenmount Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in John's memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
