At the age of 85. John proudly served his county in the U.S. Navy during WWII. Later he became a Firefighter for the City of Philadelphia from 1950 to retirement in 1975. Beloved husband of Kathryn (nee Slater); devoted father of John J. (Joann), Kathi (Joseph) Walters, Kevin (Denise), Ann Marie (Ken) Germano and Michael; also survived by 9 loving grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren; dear brother of Anne Cliggett and Dorothy Foll; brother-in-law of John Slater; also survived by many nieces and nephews. Relatives, friends and members of St. Christopher's Seniors Club are invited to his Viewing Tuesday 9:30-11:15 AM at St. Christopher Church, 13301 Proctor Rd. (at Byberry Rd.) Phila., PA 19116 followed by his Funeral Mass 11:30 AM. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. Family prefers donations to the above mentioned church or Holy Redeemer Hospice, 12265 Townsend Rd. Phila., PA 19114 in his memory.
