IN LOVING MEMORY OF
John A.
Oerth, Sr.
October 15, 1930 – September 2, 2025
John A. Oerth, Sr., age 94, passed away peacefully on September 2, 2025. He was the beloved husband of the late Rosemary and a devoted father to John Jr. "Jack" (Karen), James (Pamela), and Michael (Carol). Cherished Granddad to Brian, Brandon, Jonathan, Daniel, Addie, and Madeline, and proud Great-Granddad of Samuel, Nicholas, Jamie, Joanna, and Zachary. He is also survived by his dear sister, Betty Hesley.
John grew up in the Frankford section of Philadelphia and graduated from North Catholic High School. He was drafted into the U.S. Army and served with honor during the Korean War, earning three Bronze Service Stars, a UN Service medal, a Korean Service Medal, and a National Defense Service Medal for his bravery and dedication. After returning home, he began a long career at the Frankford Arsenal, working first as a machinist and later as a Quality Assurance Specialist. He had a love of sketching - a peaceful pastime that reflected his thoughtful nature.
