John J. "Jack" Shields, passed away on September 25, 2024, at the age of 79.  Jack was the beloved husband of 28 years to Aggie (nee Hollander). Father to Deneen (Murat) and Janell (Justin) and grandfather to three grandchildren.

After serving the City of Philadelphia as a police officer for 23 years, Jack retired, leaving behind a legacy of commitment and bravery. His passion for community service continued as a devoted member of the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #5 for over 50 years, as well as a security guard for the Overbrook School for the Blind.

Relatives and friends are invited to gather on Thursday, October 3, 2024, from 9:00 AM to 10:45 AM at Burns Funeral Home, 9708 Frankford Avenue, Philadelphia, followed by his Service 11:00 AM.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Salvation Army, 5830 Rising Sun Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19120, in Jack's memory.
