John M. Simonet; of Rockledge, PA, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Saturday, September 21st, 2024. He was 82 years old, and a heart recipient of 32 years and a kidney recipient of 14 years.

John, who grew up in the Port Richmond section of Philadelphia, A devoted Pop-Pop to his three granddaughters. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and spending time with family, friends and his dogs, Rudy and Luna.  He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Counsel 7925., Huntingdon Valley, PA, with the honors of Grand Knight in 2015-2016.  He previously worked for N.A.O. for many years.

John is predeceased by his parents; Elizabeth (nee: Kennelly) and John W. Simonet, his brother-in-law Joseph Kraus and his daughter Loretta. Left to cherish his legacy are his wife, Gerry, son George Keen (Jennifer), and daughter, Colleen Avington (James) along with granddaughters: Alyssa, Ashley, and Ava James Avington.

He will be deeply missed by his siblings; Margaret Kraus, Michael (Alice) Simonet, William (Patty) Simonet; brother-in-law, Alan Eisenhower, and lifelong friend, Joanne Prosperi; along with his nephews, Joseph Kraus, and George Simonet, and nieces, Catherine Hentschel (Christopher) and Gabriella Prosperi, along with many loving family members and dear friends, including the Kennelly cousins.

Relatives and friends are invited to the visitation on Saturday, September 28th, 2024, from 9:00 – 10:15 am at St. Albert the Great Church, 212 Welsh Rd. Huntingdon Valley, PA. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 am, with Internment immediately following at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, 3301 W. Cheltenham Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19150
