John J. Young passed away peacefully on July 1, 2021 surrounded by his family. Loving Father of Philip, Karen, Marie, Emily, Susan, and Lillian.  Beloved Pop Pop of Jonathan, Christopher, Andy, Jennifer, Anthony, Joseph, Michael, Christina, Courtney, Christian, Francis, Patrick, Joshua, Kevin and loving to Great Grandfather of 11.

An air force veteran of the Korean conflict and retired Philadelphia Fireman occupying the prestigious role of Tiller driver. John was a proud father who loved his family, treasuring every moment he spent with them.  He enjoyed spending his time with his many dogs over the years in Philadelphia's historic parks and trails. John was a kind hearted soul who would help anyone in need and was loved by his many friends. He was an avid fan and supporter of the Philadelphia Orchestra.  We will miss our sweet Father.  Rest easy in heaven Dad.

Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing Tuesday, July 27, 2021, 7:30 AM to 8:45 AM, Burns Funeral Home, 9708 Frankford Avenue, Philadelphia, PA, followed by his Funeral Mass 9:30 AM, St. Bernard Church, 7341 Cottage St. Philadelphia.  Interment will be held at Washington Crossing Cemetery.
