Joseph A. Caruthers, age 74, passed away November 8, 2025.  Joe served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam Era. He was also a retired police officer with the City of Philadelphia, as well as the U.S. Post Office.

Loving husband of Theresa (nee Scullin).  Beloved father of Terrence Scullin (Salina).  Dear Pop-Pop of Braylee and Avey.  Also survived by his sister Jeannie Caruthers, and nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to his Viewing Wednesday morning, November 19, 2025 , from 10:00-12:00 Noon at BURNS FUNERAL HOME, 9708 Frankford Ave., Philadelphia, PA 19114.  Funeral Service 12:15 P.M.  Interment 2:00 P.M. at Washington Crossing National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital , 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105 would be appreciated by the family.
