Joseph S. Majka on March 9, 2024. Beloved husband of 50 years to Kathleen (nee McAdams). Loving dad of Jennifer (Richard) Dyke. Dear grandpop of Elizabeth, Richie, Andrew, and Michael. Preceded in death by his father, John, mother, Adel, sisters, Barbara and Dolores and brother, John. He is also survived by his loving aunt Betty, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Joe served in The United States Marine Corps and was a Vietnam Veteran. He worked as a longshoreman for Local 1291 for 36 years before retiring to spend time with his grandchildren. He loved cycling, gardening, fishing, watching old tv shows and spending time with his grandchildren. Joe will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing Monday, March 18, 2024, at Burns Funeral Home (9708 Frankford Ave., Philadelphia PA 19114) from 6:00PM-8:00PM, Tuesday morning from 9:00AM-10:00AM, followed by his Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Calvary (11024 Knights Rd, Philadelphia, PA 19154) at 10:30AM. Interment Washington Crossings National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations in Joe's name can be made to the St. Ann's Guild (P.O. Box 5927 Philadelphia PA 19137) or Veterans Multi-Service Center Philadelphia.
