Obituary

It is with the heaviest of hearts that we had lost a great man,

Joseph Anthony Ritter on December 24 th , 2021.

I know this notice is late but he deserved more than just a standard notice. He was too great for that but as Joe would say, "I'm always late" so I'm sure he is up there laughing.

Joe is survived by his soul mate, Anita Mulcahy, of 26 happy years. It has been told that Joe was kind of a trouble maker until he had met this wonderful women who changed his way of thinking and had never gotten into trouble since. He was a straight up kind of man and if he didn't like you, you knew it. If he did like you, you were lucky to get to know the real him.

He is survived by his sisters Roseanne Harvey (Bob), Sarah Miller, Patricia (Shirley) Charlton (Walt)

Proceeded him was his mother Josephine Lodge who welcomed him with open arms as they had a truly strong and loving bond.

He is survived by his children from a previous marriage, Kelly Burns (Billy) and his grandchildren Autumn, William who he loved and adored. Anthony Burns and grandchild Vincent. He loved his other children from afar but loved them none the less. He reconnected with his daughter Kelly in later years and he was so happy to have her back in his life along with his grandchildren. He looked forward to all the chats on messenger that they would have together.

He is survived by his nieces Jennifer Miller and Donna Miller who he was very close with.

He is survived by his chosen children and grandchildren from his soul mates previous marriage.

Kitty (Brian)- Katie, Maddy, Kevin and Mark. Rick- Alisha, Jack, Joey and Kristin who proceeded him in heaven. Mark- Rian, Jackalynn, Charlize, Selina, Nick and William who met him in heaven.

Lastly, Sandy (Squeaky) his "Favorite" among them (Denny)- Bernie and Eddie.  This was to say the least, not an easy bond to start with, but once he heard" give the **tch another dollar" the bond between them grew for the next 23 years and that saying was always told over and over and his laugh was always great!

Joe was very protective of his great love and he could never bare it if she shed a tear, even during movies. He loved her with his entire heart and he had love to spare with his children and grandchildren.

If you needed him he was there and if there was anything they needed he knew he could count on his family. Joe was a proud man and a strong man but he was definitely a loving man, someone who for 26 years said "Good Night, I love you" to his Anita every night.

He will be remembered for his love for his family and his love of sports and his friends. He is already truly missed and our hearts feel the pain of missing his presence.

There will be a Celebration of Joe's life soon to come and it will be announced at a later date. So if you have pictures or stories please start looking so we can all "Talk about Joe"
