Joseph W., 72, of Philadelphia passed away unexpectedly January 26, 2017 at Temple University Hospital after battling Interstitial Lung Disease. Joe always had a kind word and a joke for everyone he met. He brought joy and laughter into the many lives that he touched. There was never a day that went by that he didn't have a smile on his face. Joe loved traveling, fishing, spending time at the lake and his antique vehicles. But it was his family that was his true passion.
He was a modest, gentle hardworking man, who quietly embodied the character, strength and stability which he imparted to the family he created. Joe will be greatly missed by all that were fortunate to know him, but most deeply by his family. Our husband, our Father and our Poppy has gone home to be with his Lord.
Beloved husband of Kathleen (nee Menarde) for 51 years, he is the devoted father of Lynn (Craig) Forsythe and Joe (Brendalee) Staufenberg, and loving poppy of Nicholas, Daniel, Kaitlyn Forsythe. Relatives and friends are invited to gather Saturday, Feb. 11, 2016 9 AM, St. Katherine of Siena Church, 9700 Frankford Ave. Phila, PA 19114, followed by his Memorial Mass 10 AM. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in his memory to St. Katherine of Siena Church.
