Josephine Mary Shellenberger (nee Gibbs) peacefully passed away on November 10, 2022 after a short illness. Born in Philadelphia, she was the youngest daughter of the late Henry and Josephine Gibbs (nee McShane). Beloved wife of John M. Shellenberger; loving mother of Jennifer Fischer (Michael), John H. Shellenberger (Melissa), Jeffrey Shellenberger (Ava), and Joanna Shellenberger. Devoted Grandmom "Gummy" of Emily, John M., Danny, Jeffrey, and Seraphina Shellenberger and Michael, Nathan, Christian, Jack, Jude, Brenna, and Robert Fischer. Loving sister of Catherine Opalisky (the late Steve) and Sister-in-law of Carol Davis (William) and Larry Shellenberger (the late Dawn). Caring Aunt of Kimberly Cahill (Thomas), Stephen Opalisky (Charles Sweeney), Deborah Watson (Joseph), and William Davis (Melissa).

Family and Friends are invited to gather for a viewing on Tuesday, November 15, 2022, 6-9 P.M. at Burns Funeral Home, 9708 Frankford Ave., Phila., PA 19114.  A second viewing will take place Wednesday, November 16, 2022, 9-9:45 A.M. at St. Bernard's Church, 7341 Cottage St., Phila., PA 19136; followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 A.M. Interment at Sunset Memorial Park, 333 West County Line Rd. Huntingdon Valley, PA. In lieu of flowers, please contribute to a charity of your choice in her memory.
