IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Julia C.
"Jule" Porter (Nee Larkin)
April 16, 2014
Jule was born in McAdoo, PA on October 6th, 1925. She's the daughter of the late Bernard Larkin and late Mary Hentz Larkin. She was one of ten children.
She grew up in the Hazelton, PA area. Jule worked and lived in New York City in her early days after graduating as a registered nurse from St. Mary's Nursing School in Brooklyn, NY in 1948. She was a registered nurse for over forty years, working in both public and private duty nursing. Gardening, cooking, canning, quilting and ceramics were our dear mothers enjoyable past times and hobbies. She was also an active member of the Federated Women's Club of Levittown for years and a faithful parishioner of Queen of the Universe for over 50 years. Jule was happily married for 53 years to her late husband, William "Bill" Scott Porter and resided in Levittown for over 50 years.
Jule, a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, is survived by her five children and ten grandchildren, who loved her with all of their hearts: Gary Porter of Levittown and his son Matthew Porter and daughter Lindsay Pocorobba (Jack); Ellen Payne of Jamison and husband John and stepdaughters Jennifer Stearn (John), Kristie Blandford (Christopher) and Elizabeth Payne; Julanne Gibat of Furlong and husband Craig and daughters Katelyn Gibat and Kelly Gibat; Mary Arkiszewski of Oak Ridge, North Carolina and husband Roman and children Erica, Rachel, Stephen and Peter; and Elizabeth Porter Kolesar of Sewell, NJ and husband John and children Julia and Jack. Jule is also survived by two siblings, Carolyn Simon and Joseph Larkin. In life we loved her dearly and in death we love her still.Visits: 0
