Karen was a woman of quiet goodness, whose kindness revealed itself in steady, meaningful ways that held her family together. Patient, gentle, and known for her lighthearted sense of humor, she had a way of making people feel at ease simply by being herself.
A devoted mother, she chose love every day. Through the adoption of two older children from Vietnam, she demonstrated what it truly means to make someone your own, opening her heart fully and placing family at the center of her life. She was also a devoted wife for over 40 years, marked by loyalty, partnership, and enduring love. For more than 15 years, she faced Alzheimer’s disease, and later Parkinson’s disease and breast cancer, with quiet strength and grace. She is now at peace, and her legacy lives on through the love she shared and the example she set.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Parkinson’s research in her memory.
Family and friends are invited to share a fond memory or reflection in her honor. A celebration of life will be held in the coming weeks, with details to be shared soon.
