Obituary

On the 8th of April, while in hospice care, clutching a soft green stuffed triceratops, with her son by her side, Kathleen Salamatino (nee Seedes) at age 50 died, and is now liberated. She leaves behind a son and a daughter, Vincent Jr. and Katie, plus a grandson Vincent James III, whom the sight of brought innefable joy. She does however rejoin a son and daughter, Britney and Michael, who have already passed on.

Born on the 28th of October in 1965 to Patricia and Robert Seedes, raised Roman Catholic in the Kensington section of Philadelphia, Kathleen treasured and loved her family above all. She also loved putting whipped cream on any and everything, old time television shows recorded in black and white, 1980's fashion, and makeup.

Once a happily married mother of 4, a house fire in April of 1994 would take her 3 year old daughter Britney and 6 week old son Michael. Her last remnant of their time together was a stuffed green dinosaur that Britney had handpicked as a gift for her older brother for the Christmas before her untimely death.

Early in 2014 Kathleen was diagnosed with a terminal illness and initially given only 6 months to a year left to live. Kathleen, however, like anything else would make death wait. She had family to notify and spend time with.

While in the hospital she got to see both her brothers and sister, Bobby, Tom and Patty. Plus her beloved nieces and nephews including Tara, Erika, Amber, Bobby and Ryan, who she held so dear.

Her final wish was in place that Friday afternoon of not being alone at her time of passing when she turned over to see her oldest child napping in the chair to the right. While holding a memento of her second born, her son had just brought up earlier in the morning, knowing she was on the other side waiting along with Michael her mother and father. Kathleen drew her final breath in peace. No more pain. Just endless amounts of rice pudding and every episode of I Love Lucy at her disposal. "May her life stand as a testimony to the value of family."
