On January 1, 2021, Kerry Sommer, of Trevose, passed away suddenly at the age of 51 after a short illness.  Known by many in the community, he was a valued and most-trusted Master Service Technician at Aqua Pool PA for over 25 years.  Having great enthusiasm for the fire service from the age of twelve, Kerry was a dedicated volunteer firefighter at the Lower Southampton Fire Department Engine 6 for seventeen years.  During his service to the LSFD, he was the youngest person to  be awarded Firefighter of the Year Award in 1988.  At the time, he was the youngest person to be elected Lieutenant in 1991 and Battalion Chief in 1993.  Kerry loved being a firefighter and was honored to serve.

Kerry was an avid, loyal Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies fan and he had a passion for supporting his teams.  He also enjoyed hunting and deep sea fishing.  Because of this, a formal dress code is not required for his memorial service.  Wearing Eagles, Phillies, hunting or fishing apparel is encouraged!  He had a tight circle of friends who knew and loved him dearly, and was a loyal friend to all who knew him.  Most importantly, Kerry was an awesome son, brother, and uncle.

Beloved son of Carol Ann Sommer (nee Roach) and Sherman Thomas Rose.  Loving brother of Melissa Ann Sommer, William Jacob Sommer III, and Tammy Sommer.  Dear uncle of Jake Sommer, Sr. (Jacky) and Patrick Aidan Sommer; great uncle of Jake Sommer Jr. and Declan Sommer.  He will be forever missed by his extended loving family and dear friends.

A gathering will be held Saturday, January 16, 2021, 11:00 AM to 12:45 PM, Burns Funeral Home, 1514 Woodbourne Rd., Levittown, PA 19057, followed by his Memorial Service 1:00 PM.  In lieu of flowers, contributions to Jake Sommer, Jr. and Declan Sommer's Education Fund in Kerry's memory would be appreciated.  Please make the check out to Carol Sommer.
