Obituary

Kevin P. Corkery passed away peacefully on October 30, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Beloved husband of 52 years to Helen (née Gorey). Loving father of Ryan Corkery (Nicole) and Jill Knowles (Stephen). Cherished Pop-Pop to Ryan A., Logan, and Luke. Dear brother of Mary Larson (the late James), Dennis, Ann Connelly (the late Jack), Patricia Quindlen (Francis), Elisa Rooney (Kevin), Frank (Bettyanne), Maurie (the late Katherine), Terry (Maria), Susan Scott (Bucky), and the late John (Joan). Kevin was preceded in death by his loving parents, John and Mary Corkery. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Born in Philadelphia, Kevin was raised in the Port Richmond section of the city, where he developed lifelong friendships and a deep love for his hometown. He was a proud graduate of Northeast Catholic High School, Class of 1971. Following graduation, Kevin began a long and dedicated career with PECO, where he worked for 45 years. His strong work ethic, dedication, and commitment were qualities he carried throughout his life.

Kevin was a passionate Philadelphia sports fan who proudly supported his hometown teams through every high and low. Whether he was cheering on the Phils, Eagles, Sixers, or Flyers, his local loyalty ran deep.

Above all else, Kevin was a devoted family man. He shared 52 wonderful years of marriage with the love of his life, Helen, building a beautiful life together filled with love, laughter, and countless cherished memories. While Kevin took great pride in his career and enjoyed his sports, nothing brought him greater happiness than his family, especially his grandchildren.

Being a Pop-Pop was one of Kevin's greatest joys. He treasured every opportunity to be part of his grandchildren's lives, whether it was cheering them on from the sidelines at their sporting events, picking them up from school, or taking them on a simple Wawa run. It was these everyday moments, filled with laughter, conversation, and love, that meant the most to him. Kevin never needed a special occasion to make a memory with those he loved. His presence, devotion, and unwavering love for his family will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Relatives and friends are invited to Kevin's viewing on Thursday, November 5, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Burns Funeral Home (9708 Frankford Ave., Philadelphia, PA 19114), and again on Friday morning, November 6, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by his Funeral Mass at St. Katherine of Siena Catholic Church (9700 Frankford Ave., Philadelphia, PA 19114).
