A resident of Masonic Village in Burlington County, NJ died peacefully on June 16, 2017. Born September 6, 1925, in Auckland, New Zealand and was the daughter of Edgar and Ursula McMillan. She is survived by her 3 sons, Terrence, Paul (Carol) and Bruce (Lynda), 4 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her grandson, James Pitts. She met her future husband, George F. Pitts when he was a Marine stationed in NZ during WWII. He returned after the war and they were married. They moved to Philadelphia to live. George unexpectedly died of cancer in 1961 leaving her with 3 young boys, the youngest less than one year old. Times were difficult for the family but with the help of family and friends, she was able to overcome many obstacles and provide a good life for her family. For many years she worked as a benefits counselor at the University of Pennsylvania until her retirement. In her retirement she enjoyed traveling, her family and volunteering. Lesley was an extremely independent and reserved person but was also generous and kind to all. She will be sadly missed.
