It is with deep sorrow that we announce the peaceful yet far too early, passing of Lindsey Marie Abbott on July 2, 2026. Born June 14, 1983, Lindsey graduated from Archbishop Ryan High School in 2002.
She faced severe health challenges early in life, undergoing kidney transplants at ages eight, nineteen, and thirty-five. These battles forged an unbreakable fighting spirit, earning her the affectionate nickname "Lil Soldier." Inspired by the care she received, Lindsey earned medical certifications to become a caregiver herself. She loved her work at Hahnemann Hospital and shared a deep, twenty-year bond with her nephrologist, Dr. Michael Levin, who fiercely admired her grit and determination.
Lindsey always dreamed of motherhood and risked everything to fulfill it. As a single mother, she persevered through every hardship to fiercely protect and raise her two beautiful daughters, and cared for her nephew, Julian. Outside of her devotion to family, she loved reading, dancing, summer trips to Wildwood, NJ, and taking walks along the Delaware River with her late mother during her mother's battle with cancer.
Lindsey is survived by her daughters, Aniya Mosley and Bella Baez, brothers Francis Abbott and Michael Abbott, stepsisters Dawn Tarbox and Christina Abbott, stepbrother, Nick Guenther, stepfather Bill Guenther, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. She is preceded in death by her mother, Susan Muffler Guenther, cousin Thomas Muffler, and best friend Lauren Kennedy.
Please join us in celebrating her life on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, 10:00 AM to 11:45 AM, Burns Funeral Home, 9708 Frankford Avenue, Philadelphia, followed by her Memorial Service 12:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a donation be made in her name to the American Kidney Fund.
