Loretta Marie McGowan (McDermott), 75, passed away on September 23, 2024 surrounded in love by her daughters and grandchildren.  Born to Loretta and Bob McDermott, Lee grew up in East Falls, the eldest of 4. She married the love of her life, Tom, and had 2 beloved daughters. She and Tom became country line dancers until Tom's passing when, even though it was hard, she made sure to "keep going dancing".  Everyone who knew her knew she was a tough cookie who lived and loved fiercely. She was a loving and supportive daughter, sister, wife, mother, "mommoo", aunt and friend. She will be missed terribly but she will always be with us.

She was predeceased by her cherished husband Tom, her beloved sister Mary, her parents (Robert and Loretta), parents-in-law (George and Mary), sisters-in-law (May and Kathleen), brother-in-law (Michael) and grand dogs (Lucy, Nittany, and TJ).

She is survived by her daughters Bridget (Henry) and Jennifer, her grandchildren (Kaitlyn, Tommy, Emily, and Tyler),her granddog (Sassy), her brother and sister-in-law (Bob and Teri), her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law (Bud and Mary; Fred and Sue) along with countless nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who felt her love, warmth, strength, and generosity.

Services will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2024 at Burns Funeral Home (9708 Frankford Ave., Philadelphia PA 19114) from 10:00AM-11:00AM, followed by her Memorial Service. Interment Resurrection Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, Lee requested: vote blue.
