Louise A. Strouse. 96, of Doylestown (formerly of Philadelphia and Hatboro), PA, passed away peacefully in her sleep on April 10, 2016. She was an extremely strong and resilient woman who enjoyed good health and mental clarity for almost all of her 96 ½ years.
Louise is survived by her children Anna (and Morris) Boiman of Huntington Valley, Joan-Marie (and David) Johnston of Philadelphia, John (and Adele) Strouse of Warwick, Robert (and Cynthia) Strouse of Derwood, MD, Christine (and Joe) Plush of Philadelphia, and 7 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Louise is preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, John, and 8 brothers and sisters.
Louise worked as a bakery clerk before becoming a homemaker. She enjoyed her home, cooking, drawing, sewing, word puzzles, birds and her stuffed animals. Louise had a good sense of humor right up to her death. Her favorite times were having a meal with her whole family. She enjoyed hosting the family Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays while she was able and the family continued the tradition for her in her retirement home.
Visitation will be held from 7pm to 9pm on Tuesday, April 12, 2016 and 9am to 10 am on Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at Burns Funeral Home, Frankford Avenue, Philadelphia. The funeral service will be held at 10am Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at Burns Funeral Home, 9708 Frankford Ave. Phila., PA 19114. Burial will immediately follow the funeral at Resurrection Cemetery, 5201 Hulmeville Road, Bensalem, PA 19020.
