In Loving Memory of Luz Caba de Lora

Luz Caba de Lora passed away peacefully on February 6, 2026, at the age of 88, surrounded by the love and comfort of her family. Her life was a beautiful expression of strength, compassion, and unconditional love.

She was a devoted and loving mother to her daughter, Deyanira Litka, and a cherished Mama Luz to Dante Sanchez (Abraham Hernandez), Dafni Sanchez (Rene Canela), Deyadira Glanowski (Philip Glanowski), and Danny Sanchez. Her love reached across generations as a proud and adoring great-grandmother to Sophia Glanowski, Dante Canela, Deyanelle Canela, Danelle Canela, and Olivia Glanowski.

Luz is also lovingly remembered by her beloved daughters of the heart, Nerys Alejos and Soraya Sanchez, who held a special place in her life and family.

Luz was a woman of extraordinary resilience and gentle strength. She carried warmth in her presence and generosity in her heart. Her way of loving was through giving, most beautifully expressed in the meals she prepared, the cakes she baked, and the care she poured into every detail of family life. 

Beyond her family, Luz leaves a legacy of resilience, dignity, and quiet advocacy. She believed deeply in fairness, respect, and the importance of standing up for others, values that shaped her life and influenced generations of her family. Her legacy is not only in the memories she leaves behind but, in the strength, compassion, and sense of justice she instilled in those who loved her.

The family extends their deepest gratitude to her devoted caregivers—Rene, Griselda, Nerys, Arielis, and Angela—who, with their compassion, patience, and love, brought comfort and dignity to Luz in her final years.

Luz leaves behind a lasting legacy of love, courage, and purpose that will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Though she is no longer physically with us, her spirit, teachings, and values will remain forever.

Relatives and friends are invited to honor her life at a viewing on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at Burns Funeral Home, 9708 Frankford Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19114, from 4:00 PM to 7:15 PM, followed by a service at 7:30 PM. Interment will be private.
