Obituary

Margaret "Peggy Ann" Poley (nee Janda) June 4, 2022. Beloved wife of George "Michael" Poley. Loving and devoted mom to Tina Marie Poley, Megan Flinn (Shaun), John (Brittany), and Karin Poley (Tommy Showers). Best Mom Mom Ever to Molly, Joshua, Jacob, and Michael. Loving sister to Eugene Janda, Jr. (Donna), Michael Janda (Debra), Patrica Fisher (Joseph), Jack Janda (Maureen), Thomas Janda, AnnMarie McGarrigle (Don) and the late Maureen Janda. Peggy Ann was predeceased by her parents, Eugene and Margaret (nee Norris) Janda and also by her nephew and godson, Sean Fisher.  Loving sister-in-law to Kate McCrane (Ed).  Affectionately called Aunt Peggy by many nieces and nephews. Peggy is also survived by her "adopted daughters" Bethanne and Alicia Perkowski and many cousins and friends.

Born into the Janda Family, May 31, 1956, the third of eight children, oldest of four daughters, Peggy Ann was built on strength, honesty and integrity, a natural caretaker from the start, placing everyone before herself. She was a 1970 graduate of Our Lady Help of Christians Grade School and a member of the 1974 graduating class of Little Flower Catholic High School for Girls. After graduation she spent time employed in the Optical Department at Strawbridges. Years later, fueled by soft pretzels and lemonade, Peggy Ann's days were spent with her work family at the Aramingo Pathmark, her home away from home, retiring as a dedicated customer service manager after 37 years. Fondly known as Peggy, Peg, Mom, Mom Mom, Aunt Peggy, Peggy from Pathmark, Mrs. Poley, Peggy Ann was a lifelong resident of Port Richmond. It was there that she married her best friend, Mike, raised their family and made many memories of a life well lived.  Raised with a strong and deep devotion for the church, she was a longtime member of Our Lady Help of Christians Parish, serving as Eucharistic minister for many years. She had a love of photography, taking endless school and family photos.  At a young age she learned to play piano, became an avid sewer, a savvy shopper, and the fastest kid on the block.  She takes the award for the world's best toast maker. Yes, that's a thing. She loved those Wildwood days, antiques, all things green, sunflowers, sand and Jersey tomatoes. She was a gentle soul with a big heart minus her very strong dislike of Tom Brady. She was kind to everyone. Peggy Ann flowed through life with certain perfection and grace.  Her love of her family and friends was endless. She truly adored and was adored by her grandchildren. Mom Mom is a title she held most dear. A firm believer in treating everyone the way you would want to be treated. A presence and smile that lit up every room. This was Peggy Ann. Strong. Caring. Loving. Loved by all. Peggy Ann's absence will be felt, her memory will be cherished. Thoughts of her will bring stories to minds and smiles to faces.  Memories will be shared, bringing tears of laughter. While physically gone, Peggy Ann's eternal presence will always be alive and forever in our hearts.
