Maria Nazare Araujo (nee Marques), died Tuesday, February, 6, 2018 in Philadelphia, PA, at the age of 78.
Maria is survived by her husband, Fernando; her siblings Jose Manuel (Odette), Manuel (Eyvone Teresa), Ana Paula (Paulo Alex) and Maria Fernanda (Carlos Manuel); her 5 children Marie, Lenore (Bill), Edwardo (Lucia), Raquel (Joe), and John (Alena); 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, Manuel and her mother, Julia.
Maria was born on May 26, 1939 in Alpiarça, Portugal. She married the love of her life, Fernando, on January 20, 1956 in Lisbon, Portugal and they moved to Philadelphia with their family in 1970. She is remembered by her family as being kind, funny, strong, and full of life. She was always on the go and loved to go on drives with her husband. She truly touched the lives of every person she came into contact with.
Visitation with the family will be on Friday, February 9 from 11AM-1PM at Burns Funeral Home, 9708 Frankford Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19114. Carrying out Maria's wishes, a private memorial service will be held for her family members following the visitation. The family would like to thank the hospital staff at Hahnemann University Hospital for their care and support.

Maria é sobrevivida pelo marido, Fernando; seus irmãos Jose Manuel (Odette), Manuel (Eyvone Teresa), Ana Paula (Paulo Alex) e Maria Fernanda (Carlos Manuel); seus 5 filhos, Marie, Lenore (Bill), Edwardo (Lucia), Raquel (Joe) e John (Alena); 14 netos e 11 bisnetos. Ela foi precedida na morte por seu pai, Manuel e sua mãe, Julia.

Maria nasceu em 26 de maio de 1939 em Alpiarça, Portugal. Ela se casou com o amor de sua vida, Fernando, em 20 de janeiro de 1956 em Lisboa, Portugal e se mudaram para Filadélfia com sua família em 1970. Ela é lembrada por sua família como amável, engraçada, forte e cheia de vida. Ela sempre estava viajando e adorava ir com o marido. Ela realmente tocou as vidas de cada pessoa com quem ela entrou em contato.

A visita com a família será na sexta-feira, 9 de fevereiro, das 11h às 18h, no Burns Funeral Home, 9708 Frankford Ave, Filadélfia, PA 19114. Realizando os desejos de Maria, um memorial privado será realizado para os membros da sua família após a visita. A família gostaria de agradecer a equipe do hospital no Hahnemann University Hospital por seus cuidados e apoio.
