Marie Patricia Heinz, 87, of Spring Texas, passed away February 9 th , 2023. Pat (Patsy) was born March 21 st , 1935, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to the late John Sladek and Marie Veronica (White) Sladek.
She attended the Catholic University of America in Washington, DC., and the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, PA., where she received her Bachelor of Nursing Degree. She was a devoted career nurse and educator, teaching nursing at the University of Pennsylvania and Abington Memorial Hospital, working in industrial nursing at Texas Instruments, and, finally, retiring as a school nurse from Aldine Independent School District.
In 1961, she met the love of her life, Edward Heinz, in Tuckerton, New Jersey, who she married in September of 1962. They enjoyed 49 years of wedded bliss, until her husband, Edward, preceded her in death in 2011. In 1976, Ed and Pat moved the family to Houston, Texas where they resided until their passing.
Pat was a founding member of the St. Ignatius Loyola Catholic Church community in Spring, Texas. She was an active member of the Seniors Group, the Crafting Guild, the St. Joseph's Alter Society, along with many other time and talent organizations throughout the years.
Pat is survived by her, children, Patricia Marie (Heinz) Glaeser and husband Leslie James Glaeser, Edward John Heinz, John Gerard Heinz and wife Nubia (Rodriguez) Heinz; grandchildren, Aileen Marie Glaeser, esq., Karen Muriel Heinz, and Emma Nicole Heinz; cousin Frances Donovan; and her devoted canine companion, Pumpkin. Including her parents, John and Marie Sladek, Pat was preceded in death by her husband, Edward J. Heinz, and uncle and aunt, Bill and Dolores McMullan.
The family will receive visitors Sunday, February 19 th , 2023, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Klein Funeral Home, 16131 Champion Forest Drive, Spring, Texas, 77379. A Rosary service will take place at 6:00 pm that evening. A Funeral Mass will be held Monday, February 20 th , 2023 at 11:00 am at St. Ignatius of Loyola Catholic Church, 7810 Cypresswood Drive Spring, Texas, 77379, with Fr. Jose presiding.
A visitation will then take place at Burns Funeral Home at 10:00 am on February 21 st , 9708 Frankford Ave., Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, followed by a graveside service and Interment at West Laurel Hill Cemetery in Bala Cynwyd, Pennsylvania.
