Marie T. Metz

Marie T. Metz (née Gunnip) passed away peacefully on May 1, 2026, at the age of 90, with her loving family by her side. She was the cherished daughter of the late Michael and Elizabeth Gunnip and the beloved wife of the late William Metz.

Marie was a devoted mother to Michael Viola (Julie), Joseph Viola (Bernice), and Danny Viola (Susan). She is also survived by her loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her sister, Joan DeMarco.

Marie had a zest for life and especially enjoyed shopping and dancing with her friends at local restaurants. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing on Thursday, May 7, 2026, at St. Katherine of Siena Church, 9700 Frankford Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19114, beginning at 10:00 AM, followed by her Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM. Interment will take place at Forest Hills Cemetery.
