Known as the "nicest guy you'd ever want to meet," Martin J. Burns, Jr. "Marty" passed away suddenly February 18, 2022 at the age of 80. Born in Fishtown and a resident of Churchville, PA. Graduate of Father Judge High School, St. Joseph's University and Ekels Mortuary School. A U.S Army Veteran, and a dedicated licensed funeral director for over 55 years.

Loving husband of over 56 years to Patricia "Pat" (nee Barrett). Devoted father of Kelli Ann Gerrow and Kate Burns-Luff (Todd). Loving Pop to Christopher and Grace. Dear Brother to Jerry (Jean), Joe (Denise) and the late Robert, Sr. (Maria). Uncle of Patty, Kathleen "Sissy", Mary, Joe, Lisa, Bobby, Marty, Jerry, Scott, Shamus, Shannon, Kelsey and Grace.  Beloved friend of Ron and Barb Rothenbach, Bill and Claire Sautter, Jan and Nick Muzekari.

Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing Wednesday Eve 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM, and Thursday morning 9:00 AM - 10:30 AM at the Burns Funeral Home, 9708 Frankford Ave., Phila PA 19114 followed by his Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM at St. Katherine of Siena Church, 9700 Frankford Ave., Phila PA 19114.
