Martin J. Clark Sr. passed away Friday, Jan. 29, 2016.
Living a life full of accomplishments, kindness and love; a life others could only dream of, has lead this amazing man to meet his savior in the beautiful heavens above.
Martin was preceded in death by wife, Elsie; and his two sons, John S. and Tom W. Clark. He is survived by his daughters, Ann Ludwig (Jay), and Mary Finnan (Albert), his sons, Martin Clark Jr., and Patrick Clark (Rebecca); his grandchildren, Jay Ludwig Jr., Patricia Hannigan (Jack), Jamie Sheilds, Cara Clark (Josh), Kyle Clark (Shannon Mathews), Tom Schneider (Tanya), Martin Schneider (Stephanie), and John Schneider; and great-grandchildren, Ashlyn, Haley, Jack, Delaney, Shawn, Avery, Gavin, and Luke.
His blues eyes have seen more than many of us could ever hope to. He will be remembered as a man who truly loved his family, and was fulfilled by serving others.
Born Feb. 11, 1927, in Mahanoy City, Pa., he began his legacy by joining the U.S. Army; he was a proud World War II veteran. Honorable discharge lead him to a position as a Pennsylvania State Trooper when he soon was called back for the Korean War. Following this he served as a police officer starting the K-9 Unit for the Bristol Township Police Department, leading to his retirement. From there he went to work for the New Jersey State Police Department for 20 years, leading to his 'official' retirement at 81.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or The Philadelphia Police Officers Survivors Fund, FOP Lodge #5, 1336 Spring Garden St., Philadelphia, PA 19123, would be appreciated.
