Mary Jo Carelli (nee Mele) died on Wednesday February 28, 2024.  Also known as Mary or Maria, she was the wife of the late Frank Carelli.
She is survived by many of her loving nieces and nephews. Retired with 42 years of service in the capacity of office supervisor for the John Hancock Insurance Company. Mary had an avid love for music, played the violin as a child, performed in many Operas with her beautiful operatic voice. She sang for many weddings and funerals, was one of the first cantors for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia.Mary belonged to the Delaware Valley Choral Society, Our Lady of Fatima Guitar Group and St. Ephrem's Choir. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of Americas #2230 for well over 25 years.Mary belonged to Adoration at Our Lady of Fatima and served as Cantor for the Blue Army for over 25 years.

Relatives and friends are invited to gather Friday March 8, 2024 St. Katherine of Siena Church 9700 Frankford Ave. Phila. PA 19114 10:00 am to 10:45 am followed by her Funeral Mass 11am Interment - Resurrection Cemetery.
