Mary Ellen Shaw

Mary Ellen Shaw passed away peacefully on April 26, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. She was a devoted and loving mother to Nancy (Steven) Zolk, the late Paul Weston, and Donna Weston De Sousa.

Mary was a proud and cherished Mom-Mom to Kevin (Ashley) Romans, Desiree Zolk, and Sean Zolk (Faith), and a beloved GiGi to Jayden Romans and Ariana Romans, who brought her endless joy.

Mary was known for her warm heart, her deep love for her family, and her spirited personality. A lifelong and passionate Philadelphia sports fan, she could always be found cheering on her favorite teams with enthusiasm and pride. She also had a well-known sweet tooth, enjoying life’s little indulgences whenever she could. For many years, Mary dedicated herself to St. Martin of Tours Church and School in Philadelphia, where she faithfully served in a variety of roles. Her commitment and presence there left a lasting impact on the community she cared so deeply about.

Relatives and friends are invited to gather on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at Burns Funeral Home, 9708 Frankford Ave., Philadelphia, PA 19114, from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM, followed by her Funeral Service. Interment will be private.

Mary Ellen will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her love, strength, and the joy she brought to all who knew her.
