It is with great sadness that we share the sudden passing of Mary Ellen McLaughlin on August 20, 2023. Born Feb 4, 1947, in Philadelphia PA to Harry and Julia Hillman.She was a proud graduate of Hallahan High School. Mary Ellen married Michael McLaughlin on Nov 5, 1966, in Philadelphia where she spent most of her life until her recent move to Myrtle Beach, SC. Mary Ellen spent more than 3 decades with the Federal Government proudly working for the Social Security Administration of Hearings and Appeals. She truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures; travel, chatting with her friends and spending time with her children, grandchildren,and great grandchildren. Mammom had an uncanny way of drawing the best out of people and sharing her love of laughter.

She is survived by her loving husband Michael P. Devoted mother of Michael Jr., Megan Reynolds (Michael), Brendan (Theresa). Dear Mammon of Gregory (Kayla), Jessica (John), Zachary (Trisa), Seamus, Aidan and her great grandchildren Leila, Damon, Scarlett, Sicilia, Rosalina, Finley, Morgan and Harper. Sister of Julie (and the late Thomas Reese), Margaret (Michael Delp), Thomas (Theresa Hillman), and the late Harry Hillman, Kate Conway and Theresa Hillman.

Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing and funeral Monday August 28,2023 9:00 AM to 10:45 AM BURNS FUNERAL HOME 9708 Frankford Ave. Phila. Pa. 19114 followed by her Funeral Mass 11:00 AM St. Katherine of Siena Church. Funeral procession will form and leave Burns Funeral Home Tuesday, August 29, 2023, promptly at 9:00 AM for burial at Washington Crossing National Cemetery.
