MaryEllen Owens (nee Gaudreau) passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on August 24 2024.

Born and raised in Philadelphia, MaryEllen was the daughter of the late John Gaudreau Sr.  and late Catherine Gaudreau. She was predeceased by her brothers John Jr, Patrick and Paul.

MaryEllen was the epitome of strength and determination.  As a young single mom, she worked tirelessly to build a good life for her 3 boys and helped them all grow into amazing men.  As a professional, she served long tenures with both Mellon Bank and the City of Philadelphia. MaryEllen was an avid traveler.  She loved taking cruises with Alaska being her favorite destination.

Her greatest source of pride were her grandchildren. From hosting Christmas Eve for decades to enjoying movie/lunch dates, nothing gave her more pleasure than being Mom Mom to her grandkids.

MaryEllen was a loving mother to Paul (Heather), Steven (Wendy) and Timothy (Joy).  A beloved Mom Mom to Kyle (Shannon), Damien, Stephanie (JD), Alexis and Mackenzie as well as GiGi to her great-grandson Nolan.  MaryEllen is also survived by her sister Paula Conroy (Billy).

Relatives and friends are invited to MaryEllen's viewing on Friday August 30, 2024 at St. Katherine of Siena Church (9700 Frankford Ave, Philadelphia PA 19114) from 9:30am-11am followed by her Funeral Mass.  Interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
