Maurice "Gus" age 84 of Philadelphia passed away on December 30, 2015. Predeceased by his loving wife of 62 years Eleanor "Wally" Thomas. Devoted father of Robert (Cindy), John, Kathy Grier (Michael), Jeffrey, and the late Michael. Adoring grandfather (Pop Pop) of Bill, Nicole (Todd), Gina Marie (Neil), Lauren, and the late Rob, great grandfather of Wesley; also survived by brothers John and James Thomas, sisters Betty Godfrey, Sarah Thomas and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Thomas served in the US Army during the Korean War and was a combat infrantryman who received the Purple Heart. Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing Tuesday 10 AM, Burns Funeral Home, 9708 Frankford Ave., followed by his Service 12 Noon. Interment is Forest Hills Cemetery.
