Michael J. Perkins, 65, passed away on September 2, 2026. Michael was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA, and later made his home in Swoyersville, PA.
Michael was the beloved father of Sandrah (James) Napoleon and Robyn (Robert) McCutchen, and the proud grandfather of Nathanyl, Nouvel-Soleil, Harlow, Ethan, and Harper. He was the dear brother of Kathy (Dan) Peters and was preceded in death by his parents, James and Joanne Perkins.
Michael proudly served his country in the United States Army. Following his military service, he worked as a mechanic for the United States Postal Service for many years before retiring in 2019.
Michael was a man who truly loved life and treasured the time he spent with the people he loved most. His family meant everything to him, and he especially cherished spending time with his grandchildren. He enjoyed attending concerts and listening to local live music, and he was a lifelong fan of the Philadelphia Flyers. Michael loved to travel, particularly enjoying the cruise life and trips to Atlantic City. He also treasured the time he spent with his partner, Lisa.
Full of life, energy, and a spirit of adventure, Michael made memories wherever he went and left an impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who loved him.
A Celebration of Life will be held by the family on Sunday, September 27th, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the FOP Lodge 5, 11630 Caroline Road, Philadelphia, PA 19154, in the MGL Room.
