Of Temple Terrace, FL. Formerly long time residents of Philadelphia (Fishtown). Jake was born & raised on the historic Elfreth's Alley. Jake and Millie were married for 67 years. Loving parents of the late Cheryl Ann, Joan Rhoads Alexander (Bill), Denise Lederer (Miles). Loving Pop and Gram of Brian Rhoads, Jenna Lederer Walsh (Michael), Kathleen Lederer. Great Grandparents to Molly Rhoads & Maeve Walsh.
Millie was employed by the Philadelphia School District as a Teacher's Aide, working 25 years at St. Michael's Catholic Grade School. Millie may have been short in stature, but she had a feisty nature about her! She was a great cook and loved entertaining her family and friends.
Jake was the Director of Shipping & Receiving - 25 years at Wricley Nut Product Company in Philadelphia. He also was employed as a Purchasing Agent - 25 years at Dolly Madison Ice Cream Company in Philadelphia. He was a semi-professional softball pitcher for the Philadelphia men's softball league. He enjoyed using his talent as a pitcher, coaching Girls Softball Teams at Fishtown AC and Mercy Career & Technical High School.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather on Wednesday May 26, 2021 at BURNS FUNERAL HOME, 1428 E. Columbia Ave. Phila., PA 19125 from 10:00 AM - 10:45 AM followed by their Service at 11:00 AM. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
