Natalie Marie Rivera, DO, passed away peacefully on September 22, 2025, at the age of 36, surrounded by her loving family after a brave and unwavering battle with cancer.

Natalie was the cherished daughter of Claudette and the late Rafael Rivera, beloved wife of Joseph Lugardo, and devoted mother to her daughter, Penelope. She was a loving sister to Cristina Rivera and Claudia Rivera, and a proud aunt to Sol. She is also survived by her adoring aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family.

A proud graduate of Drexel University, Natalie went on to earn her medical degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed her residency at Overlook Medical Center in Summit, NJ, and later began her career in family medicine at Einstein Medical Center, where she cared deeply for her patients and colleagues alike.

Natalie had a heart full of compassion and a spirit. She was a gifted writer, a joyful singer, and above all, someone who treasured every moment spent with her family.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Natalie's life at her viewing on Monday, September 29, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Burns Funeral Home, 9708 Frankford Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19114. A second viewing will take place on Tuesday from 9:00 AM to 10:15 AM, followed by her Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM at St. Katherine of Siena Church, 9700 Frankford Ave. Phila., PA 19114. Interment will be held privately.
