Raymond Thieroff at the age of 89, a Philadelphia resident, passed away on October 12, 2023. Ray was born on July 23, 1934, to Sadie and Ted Thieroff in Philadelphia.

In 1955, Ray met the love of his life, Phyllis, married her and went on to have three daughters Barbara, Phyllis, and Nancy, Ray was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. After Ray retired, Ray and Phyllis moved to the Villages at Pine Valley in 2005. When his wife passed away in 2008, the community at Pine Valley became his second family. At the Villages at Pine Valley, Ray- "The Mayor", was very active serving on many committees and volunteering whenever he could. Ray greeted everyone in the community and made them feel welcome. As his friends say, "Everyone Loves Raymond".

Ray was predeceased by his wife Phyllis, his parents Sadie and Ted, his sister, Sis Morgan and his brother, Ted Thieroff. He is survived by his three daughters Barbara Matkowski, Phyllis Schneider (Gene), Nancy Trerotola (Larry). Grandfather, "Pop", of Sheila Selgrath (Greg), Thomas Matkowski (Kate), David Matkowski, James Schneider, Daniel Trerotola (Angie), Sarah Schneider, Lucy Schneider and Great Grandpop of John Raymond Thummel, Thomas (T) Matkowski, Gwen Selgrath, Gregory Selgrath, Michael Selgrath, Ollie Trerotola

Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on October 17, 2023 at BURNS FUNERAL HOME, 9708 Frankford Ave. Philadelphia, PA 19114 from 6pm to 8pm and also on Wednesday, October 18, 2023 from 8:30am to 9:30am.  His funeral mass will follow the viewing on Wednesday  starting at 10am at St. Katherine of Siena Church.
