Obituary
Beloved husband of Virginia "Ginny" (nee Daniels). Loving father of Kelly Huynh (Danny), Allison and Kiersten. Poppy to Mila. Dear brother of Joan Mingle and Marie Dykeman. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Bob fought a long and courageous battle against Cancer, and passed peacefully with his family by his side.
Bob was born and raised in Torresdale, and could be considered a true Philadelphian and diehard Eagles and Phillies fan. He graduated from St. Katherine of Sienna grade school, Archbishop Ryan High School, and Holy Family University. Bob dedicated his career to many years of service as an educator and school administrator at Bancroft School in Haddonfield, NJ. He was very passionate about creating opportunities for individuals with special needs, enabling them to soar above limitations and maximize their potential. He even partnered with Wawa to establish the student run store "Sweet Success".
Not only was Bob a devoted principal, he was also an inspiring professor, Coach, and above all, the life of the party. He dedicated many years to coaching his daughters' softball teams, and relished the chance to see his players flourish. Bob was a lover of the sounds of the Caribbean, saltwater fish tanks, and automobiles from classic cars to RV's. A man of many talents, he was a skilled grill master, woodworker, and stained glass artist, but found the most enjoyment in sharing his talents with others. Whether he was taking the time to make you laugh or pulling you out on the dance floor, Bob's positive spirit could light up a room. Although he went home to be with his best pal Ernie, his legacy will live on through all the hearts he has warmed and lives he has touched.
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Sunday February 22nd 6-9 PM and Monday February 23rd 8:30-9:30 AM at BURNS FUNERAL HOME, 9708 Frankford Ave. Phila., PA 19114 followed by his Funeral Mass 10 AM at St. Katherine of Siena Church. Interment private. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory to Special Olympics Pennsylvania, 2570 Boulevard of the Generals, Suite 124, Norristown, PA 19403.
