Forever best friend and husband of Maria A. (nee Monaco). Devoted and proudest dad of Lisa (Billy) and Bob, Jr. (Gina), and Pop-Pop of Erin, Jack, Sarah, and Julia, whom he always said "made my life complete". Bob was a funeral director, owner, and partner at the Burns Funeral Home in the Fishtown area of Philadelphia, which was founded in 1939 by his parents, Martin J., Sr. and Grace R. (nee McNeill). He worked compassionately and tirelessly in his family's business his entire life. Anyone who met with Bob always came away with the same feeling "He's just a nice guy.". He loved his family, friends, having fun, and was fun to be around. We are all going to miss Bob but will remember him with a smile. He is also survived by his 3 partners and brothers Martin J. Jr., Gerard J., Joseph J. and many loving nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to his Viewing Friday evening, 5-9 P.M. and Saturday morning, 8-9 A.M. at BURNS FUNERAL HOME, 9708 Frankford Ave. (So. of Grant Ave.). Funeral Mass 10 A.M. at St. Katherine of Siena Church. Interment Resurrection Cemetery.
