A resident of Philadelphia, born and raised in Bristol, PA. Beloved husband of Margaret (nee McStravock). Devoted father of Bob (Janet), Meg Houseman (Jim), John (Lori), and Gerard (Janet). Proud Pop of Megan, Rob, Meganne (Tom), Patrick (Nora), Courtney, Shane, Molly, Logan, Kelly, Ryan, Matthew, Collin, and Kaitlyn. Great grandfather of Seretha. Son of the late William and Seretha McHugh. Dear brother of William and James McHugh, Kay Hastings, and the late Rita Weik, John, Charles, and Joseph McHugh. Bob was a U.S. Army Korean War Veteran. He was a proud Philadelphia Firefighter of 34 years, working at Engine 27 as Battalion Chief 3's Aide, and as Deputy Chief 3/2's Aide for over 2 decades, and was a member of the League of the Sacred Heart. He retired in 1992. After retirement, he worked full time as a security guard at Nazareth Hospital. Bob was also an employee of Sears and Roebuck for decades. He coached baseball and soccer at Torresdale Boys' Club and was a referee with the United Junior Soccer League. Relatives, friends, and members of Local #22 are invited to his Viewing Tuesday evening 6-9 P.M. and Wednesday morning 8:30-9:15 A.M. at BURNS FUNERAL HOME, 9708 Frankford Ave. (S. of Grant Ave.). Funeral Mass 10 A.M. at St. Katherine of Siena Church. Interment Resurrection Cemetery.
