Obituary

Robert (Bob) Nebinger, 74, passed away on June 9th, 2024 in Philadelphia, PA. Son of Edith Nebinger (Karnes), and Leroy Nebinger, he was born September 3rd,1949. He graduated from George Washington High School and entered the Navy shortly after, serving during Vietnam, and worked as a pressman and a printer. Bob worked for a few printing companies, but his favorite was CMP based in NJ and NY. His hours were flexible, and it allowed him to refine his cooking skills for his family. His favorite recipes included his famous chili, grilling and always his Thanksgiving dinner. His favorite memories were belonging to Harvey Cedars in LBI and belonging to Tamerlane Campground with his wife and children outside of Sea Isle, NJ. Bob enjoyed playing golf, fishing, watching golf on television and he loved his Philadelphia Sports teams. Bob helped coach his children's sports when younger and always enjoyed going to his grandchildren's sport games and dance recitals. I do not doubt that he is watching all the games from up above. He probably is commenting on all the bad calls.

He was preceded to heaven by his mother, father, and his beloved wife of many years, Gail Nebinger. He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Nizio (Brian), his three lovely grandchildren: Ryan Nizio, Erik Nizio and Addison Nizio; his son, Bobby; his sister Linda Barrett and her husband, Mike Barrett; his adopted family, as he called them: Joan and Scott Hammer; Kelly and her husband, Chad Davies and  Hunter Hammer; Danny Hammer.

Bob was a beloved father, pop-pop, husband, brother, and friend. He has been battling dementia for many years but his passing was quick, just like he always hoped it would be.

While we lost our most beloved dad and pop-pop, many have lost a friend and loved one in him. He has been a rock to many, a master at sarcastic humor and witty timing to others, and even a glorious pain in the neck, to what I'm sure is a small select few.

There was so much more to him than just dad and pop-pop, though to us that was his greatest roll - he was also a friend, a coworker and colleague, a cousin, brother, cook, golfer and printer.

We invite you all to share pictures or memories. It was his wish that we laugh and reminisce with a beer in hand, and smile together during this time.

A memorial service will be Friday July 26th, 2024 at George Washington Crossing National Cemetery (830 Highland Road, Newtown PA, 18940). Interment private.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Saint Ephrem School, in honor of his 3 grandchildren
