Mama Rome was born December 27, 1928, in Escuintla Guatemala, and resided in Philadelphia from 1989-2020.  She is survived by her children:  Dora Elizabeth Martinez Manosca, Jorge Armando Martinez, Victor Hugo Martinez, Alma Judith Martinez, and Edgar Rolando Martinez, Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren.

Our dear grandmother Romelia Martinez Rivera, Mama Rome met her Savior on Wednesday, April 15, 2020, in Philadelphia, PA.  She is preceded in death by her husband Roberto Alfonso Martinez who passed away at the young age of 37 years old, her son Roberto A. Martinez and Wilfredo Martinez.  Mama Rome's Great Legacy:

Mama Rome was an many of us remember, an independent woman.  She raised her children on her own.  She was a successful and respected business owner in Escuintla, Guatemala.  She taught her children and grandchildren the value of great work ethic, encouraging many in the family to also become entrepreneurs.  She was admired and respected by so many.  With heavy hearts but with great hope, we her family will rejoice one day when we get to meet again.  Mama Rome was the epitome of what a "strong woman" is and would want nothing but the best for her family.  Her grand stature and confidence is what she passed on to all her family.  She would be quick to check you if you got out of line and she showed her love for each in her own special way.  Her legacy will live on with all of us and she will forever remain in our hearts.  We will miss you Mama Rome. "God be with you, "till we meet again" we love you but we know God needed another tough angel beside him.
