Ronald L. "Ron" Kersey, Jr. passed away peacefully on July 12, 2026.
Beloved son of the late Ronald L. Kersey, Sr. and Regina. Devoted husband of over 25 years to Mellisa (née Bach). Loving father of Caitlin (Raevon) and Gabriel. Dear brother of Jennifer Kersey and Rhonda Cosme (Ralph). He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
Ron was a dedicated and hardworking plumber who took great pride in his profession. For more than 20 years, he was a valued member of the team at Sam Wexler Plumbing, where he earned the respect and friendship of his coworkers through his strong work ethic, dependability, and willingness to lend a helping hand.
Outside of work, Ron found his greatest joy in spending time with those he loved. The O'Boyle family held a very special place in his heart. Though they were not related by blood, Ron considered them family, and they shared countless memories, laughter, and an enduring bond that meant the world to him. He also loved escaping to Wildwood, where he could relax and enjoy the shore. Ron was a loyal New York Giants fan and never missed an opportunity to cheer on the Philadelphia Phillies.
Above all else, Ron's greatest source of pride and happiness was his family. He was a devoted husband who shared a loving marriage with Mellisa for more than 25 years and a proud, caring father to Caitlin and Gabriel. His kindness, loyalty, and unwavering love for his family—including the many lifelong friends he considered family—will be remembered always. He will be deeply missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Thursday, July 16, 2026, at Burns Funeral Home (9708 Frankford Ave., Philadelphia, PA 19114) from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM, followed by his Funeral Service. Interment will be private. In lieu of the flowers donations can be made in Ron's name to the National Kidney Foundation.
