Ruth Tressel (née Donterville)  passed away on January 17, 2024 at the age of 93. Born in Philadelphia, Ruth was a graduate of Little Flower High School for Girls, class of '47.  Ruth was devoted to her family. She loved summers at the shore, solving puzzles, visits with friends and neighbors, and being involved in cherished family gatherings.
Loving wife of the late John F. Tressel.  Beloved mother of Joan Ann Rauch (Bob), Carol Tressel, and Arlene Schreiber (Tom).  Adored Grandmom of Heather Chambers (Mark), Kimberly Stein (Dave), T.J. Schreiber (Stacy), Jennifer Zagorski (Josh), Brian Schreiber, and Emily Seaman (Patrick).  Great grandmother, "Mom-Mom", of Liam, Tristan, Emma, Brianna, Jason, Jack, Julie, Luke, Ben, Kinley, Logan, Marin, and Blaise. Survived by loving nieces Francie and Barbie, nephew Tommy, and their families. Preceded in death by her parents, John and Ruth Donterville (née Miller), and her sister Frances Cunningham (the late Thomas).
Relatives and friends are invited to greet Ruth's family on Thursday, January 25, from 9:00 to 9:45 A.M. at St. Martha Church, 11301 Academy Road, Philadelphia, PA 19154.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M.  Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, 3301 W. Cheltenham Ave., Philadelphia, PA 19150.
