Salvatore Giusti, Jr., a dedicated father, loving husband, caring brother, wise uncle and skilled brick mason lost his battle to melanoma on Wednesday, March 26 at 79 years old. Beloved husband of Barbara (nee Marzano), devoted father of Toni Sottak (Michael), Salvatore III, Deborah Mohnssen (Kerry), Barb Kane (Christopher), and the late James, dear grandpop of Savannah, Christian, Kelsea Jean, Lindsey, Colin, Caitlyn, and Maxwell James; brother of Clara Ricciutti and the late Rudolph Giusti.
Born on August 4, 1934, Sal grew up in Philadelphia to Antoinette and Salvatore Giusti who immigrated to the United States from Italy. From an early age, Sal was a hard-working, caring and honest man. He served two years in the Army, stationed in Germany, and traveled to Italy, France, Denmark and Finland. He enjoyed cooking, traveling, baseball, watching old movies and playing poker. His family and friends will never forget his legendary "Sunday Gravy" or his infectious smile.
Married for over 50 years, Sal was the kind of man who always put his family's needs first. His strong will, good-hearted nature and old-fashioned ways make him a one-of-a kind treasure that will be missed tremendously.
